For Those Who Love to Write

Posted: Tuesday, August 18, 2009

by Marijo Phelps

Needles of thought Needles of thought prick my head

Until even the sawdust of my brain

Must respond.

Through threads of memories

Tightly woven and interwoven

The tiny dart probes.

In and out so fast that

I barely have time to focus

Upon the tapestry they continue to weave.

I regret only

That my hands are not quicker

To draw the picture in writing

That the flashing needles of thought

Embroider endlessly

Upon my mind.

Outlet

Why do I only write

Pensive-serious-sad?

Because when I'm joyous,

I'm much too alive to sit still

But am up-about-off somewhere BEING!

Exodus 4:12

Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say." (NIV)

Luke 12:12

for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say." (NIV)

Thank you Lord for giving me "word pictures" to write!
