Daddy's Hug

I offer the first of my morning
To You.
That sleepy, barely awake time
When I come
Tousled and toddler like
To You, My Father

And You gather me up
In Your arms of love
As I begin my day
Knowing
Just because I came,
You were there

You listened to my
Sleepy conversation,
Strengthened me, lifted and hugged

Your love overflowing me
Because I made an effort
Just to come

I sorrow for the many mornings
When I slept too late
To come
And be with You first.

Who Is Your Father? Devotional (Words from the Lord series)

Daughter, who is your Father? Is His arm too short that it can't reach? My love for you is boundless, limitless. All things work together for good. Know that with security. Be not dismayed or discouraged.

Isaiah 59:1
[ Separated from God ] Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. (NJKV)

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. (NKJV)

Romans 8:16-17
16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirsheirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. (NKJV)

Prayer: Dear Jesus, please help me to TRUST during those times things look blurry to my natural eyes. Help me remember whose hand it is that I clasp tightly and to REST in You. AMEN
