Wilderness I
Cool fields on a summer day,
Crystal lake with wooded bay,
Solitude with beauty blessed,
That's my idea of wilderness.
Wilderness II
Wilderness is alone, yet filled
Colored by paints that Jesus spilled;
Cool greens, mossy browns, sparkling blues,
Artfully combined, make spectacular views.
Cares and worries go away for the day,
With solitude and quiet, let come what may.
Why must the world rush on and on
When it could be resting in His peaceful calm?
1 Chronicles 4:40
They found rich, good pasture, and the land was spacious, peaceful and quiet. (NIV)
Psalm 23:2
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters….(NIV)
Isaiah 32:17
The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever. (NIV)
Isaiah 28:12
to whom he said, "This is the resting place, let the weary rest"; and, "This is the place of repose"- but they would not listen. (NIV)
Prayer: Dearest Lord, help us to never be among the number of "they would not listen". Thank You for leading us into times and places of rest where Your hand has painted gorgeous scenes complete with Your peace. Please help us to know these times and soak in Your presence there. AMEN
