The Blood Sacrifice

Covered with the robe of righteousness
His blood poured out for me
Sinless God, our Jesus man
Tortured, bled and died to free
His wounded side for those not there
His heart, broken for you , for me
Not one bone touched, nailed on that cross
Raised up on the splintery tree
Penalty paid for liberty
Priceless freedom He gave
We need but ask forgiveness now
Our creator came to save
His wounds overflowed
Jesus' heart did break,
Pierced by satan's Roman spear
Killed. Scarlet flowed. An earth erupting quake.
Scattered disciples, Mary wept.
They entombed and buried him.
The lamb of God, perfect One
He who knew no sin.
He'd restored the lame,
Given sight to the blind
Healed the sick,
Touched the demonized mind
And these life deeds
Love freely gave
And then was
Sentenced to His grave
Red garnet, scarlet, flowing down
For the crucifiers to see
Did death really win, that terrible day
Or did He die to set me free?

why just focus on agony, gore,pain and bloodletting?Why not focus on his Rabbinical teachings and his parables and love for us all?this is something God awful that only Mel Gibson would have appreciatedThe aspect of his sacrifice is in the Bible and no one else could pay that price for me (or you). He love you enough to go to these lengths and it might be a high price but it was and is very real. Marijoyou didn't answer any of my questions;the Romans crucified MANY(not just Him)of tens of thousands of people using the cross as a capital punishment death apparatus, so wearing a cross is exactly like wearing a little electric chair on a chain around your neck.(When Christ returns the LAST thing He would want to see again would be a cross!)Moreover, much non church historical strong evidence exists that with Pilate's physicians help(Pilate found Him charming) and much collusion , He actually survived the scourging and cross experience and escaped to France and preached there and died at 82.(There are many churches in France dedicated to Him and Mary Magdelene many years BEFORE Christianity 'took off' in the turmoil of the Middle East.(He ate and drank with his disciples AFTER his supposed death;spirits don't do that)You're only parroting wrong church doctrine thats been drummed into your head.Doctrine that perversely focuses on His agony and torture and suffering,as you have,rather than on his elevated teachings,a most morbid focus for the central theme of any religion and just pure poohbah.Hi Anon, Marijo does focus on the beauty of his love and teachings, go to some of her other articles. Especially her "words from the Lord series" they are filled with his teachings and different aspects of his love. But it all starts and ends with his work on the cross and his resurrection.Amen. There are many, many places in the Bible that indicate that Jesus is, indeed, God who came to pay the price for my sin and yours. If he wasn't God he would be under the same penalty of death as we were and his death would have no meaning. He paid an enormous price to set this captive FREE and he couldn't have done that if he weren't God, sinless and perfect. MarijoJesus spoke of worshipping the Father,in Heaven saying that he was one with,(aligned with)the father; actually ,early christians were acused of being atheists as they didnt worship God, but rather they worshipped a crucified man;you and the church are wrong and confused about GOD and ONE of his sons(we are all goids's children)You MUST learn to use your God given brain and not just parrot what youve wrongly been taughtWhen all is said and done and life is over if I find out the Bible is wrong I will have very few regrets for the life I have lived. I was an atheist for 9 years and after being saved by the Lord Jesus Christ my whole world was turned upside down. I was not saved in a church either and at that time had not been taught much of anything formally - think we are going to have to agree to disagree on this one. Marijo, yoour love for the Lord is evident in this poem. You have a great gift and I appreciate how you tied in such biblical truths about the diety of Jesus Christ the man - 100% God and 100% man. Beautifuly done - keep sharing. You are blessing many hearts and turning them UPWARD. Excellent job - you are using your God given brain in an incredible way.Thanks for your total encouragement! HE is able and I just want others to know the freedom of being in Christ - I spent 9 long years as an atheist and that was way too long - I wish I hadn't and will do whatever I can to help share the "good news"! anon. just because people don't beieve like you, doesn't mean they are not adults and do not think for themselves. You think that a psychic has the truth on Jesus and you believe her story, using your own logic, you ned to be an adult and think for yourself. What makes her book right and the Bible wrong? Every body has a choice to believe as they wish and they have their reasons why.Thanks so much for your comments here - my hubby and I were out for a 5 mile hike in the mountains and good to read this on coming home! Good see something writing about what Jesus Christ accomplished for us. As a recovered alcoholic, I am keenly aware that "by his stripes we were healed;" and the redemption assures believers of wholeness, prosperity, and health.
