Keep your eyes OFF the Storm and ON the Lord Jesus Christ

Matthew 14:28-30 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” (NKJV)

If we concentrate on our problem we will be buried. We can have our ship in the storm but do not want the storm in our ship!

1 Corinthians 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.(NKJV)

Carnal man – desires to please only SELF

Spiritual man – desires to please only Jesus, the Father and Holy Spirit

Lord of my heart and soul and life, I offer up praise to You!

When we keep our eyes on Him who calmed the wind and the waves nothing is impossible. He loves us, has a definite purpose and plan for us, today and long term. HE is the God of the impossible, sometimes in spite of us. Can you give Him that opportunity to show you? He loves you SO much and is reaching out to you even now. He offers forgiveness, freedom, deliverance and practical, everyday encouragement. HE truly is the lover of your soul. How difficult can it be to say yes to the creator of the universe who’d love to have that special, intimate relationship with you?

I spent the whole day writing a couple of days ago - so I again have articles in my reserve folders and just need to figure out where to post them! I got nudged on this one and wrote the last paragraph just before hitting "enter" - You and Michelle should drop in for dinner - have ham and beans in the crock pot and they are perfuming the whole house. Cats are going nuts.  Marijo

Wonderful story Marijo,

I have always loved the story where Peter walked on the water until he took his eyes off Jesus. Isn't that so true of us in our own lives? I also love Phil 4:13 " I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strenghtens me." I know this to be so true so I am often trying to keep my eyes on the prize.

Love, hugs and blessings,

Michelle
