That They Should Believe the Lie

There seems to be an incredible increase is evil and the acceptance of that evil as "normal". Think back 10 or 20 years ago. People then, not even those professing to be Christians, would have been appalled at most everything which is now on TV or in the movies. Then there is the revision of history, current political trends and things being made into law. I am sure we all have friends and family who do not know Jesus as Truth and are making terrible choices and paying the consequences of those choices. Also, those who call or called themselves Christians who seem to be, well, falling away, yes, the Bible speaks of a great falling away in the end times.
2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
Perhaps we have been called for such a time as this. If we have been sort of strolling along in our "new creature in Christ" experience perhaps it is time to take stock, pray and that without ceasing and start to w-a-l-k and run with purposefulness. He is coming back. We say "maranatha" but do we really mean it? Come quickly Lord Jesus. One of these days, soon, He is going to answer that cry.
Do you notice many, many more seem to be believing a lie rather than the truth? Have you wondered about that? With some who used to have a "whatever" attitude towards the Bible and things of God, especially the Lord Jesus Christ they new seem more adamant and set totally against reasoning. The following scripture seems difficult but definitely has answers.
2 Thessalonians 2:8-12 (New King James Version)
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
I have emboldened the latter part to use it to pose a question. Is this possibly what we are seeing? Are we at this milestone in the scripture and the timetable?
I don't have the answer to that but it surely seems like more of a possibility as each day goes by.
If you are reading this and it is making sense to you, talking to you do not wait a minute longer. Today is the day for salvation. You do not have to be among those labeled "that they should believe the lie". You still have a choice. Choose you this day whom you shall serve.
There is still time to call out to Jesus and ask forgiveness. Being set free in Him is something to be experienced rather than described. He can liberate the captive from any and all sin and give forgiveness in a most incredible way.
Romans 10:8-10 (New King James Version)
8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart"(that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
I know all of this I am mentioning because over 35 years ago He totally set this captive free. I am a work in progress, He is not through with me yet!

Top-level comments on this article: (7 total)I see many so-called Christians justifying bad laws and selfish life styles, invoking Jesus to justify their selfish behavior. The fact that this "truth" is subject to perverse interpretation seems to me proof enough that the religious are no more enfranchised with "truth" than the next poor slob. Thanks for your honest comments. Not all who call themselves Christian are behaving like Jesus - that doesn't mean that Jesus or the Bible is not true. Someone once asked me if I got a counterfeit twenty dollar bill if I would quit using all 20 dollar bills... I guess it is one of those "don't throw the baby out with the bath water" type of situations. While Christians are "works in progress" there are counterfeits too. It sounds like you have had some bad experiences and I am sorry to hear that.Sorry, but my eyes have been opened as a result of questioning what is truth. Not all arrive at the same time, or using the same books.Cheers,Borville
I read the things you write with concentration and thoroughness- seeking to discern their meaning, and the meaning behind them. You do well- Always- EllaThanks Ella, I always get a smile when I see your name and comments -
Free thinking isn't "evil".God gave us minds to discern Him through our direct experiences with Him , not through Biblical analysis of Him.A mystics' experience of just one moment of exposure to God's immense warming love, a tidal wave of buoyant love, reveals that He is and can be ONLY pure love and pure goodness; the Bible blindly rants another wrong more ugly version of God's nature..The sin, the profound Biblical error, or as you assign it, ' deceit', is that God is an Ogre, a Monster, an avenging dysfunctional parent who can and will avenge, destroy, turn on us with wrath, face us with anger. He could never as He is ONLY pure love. This text, in misrepresenting God's absolute and total unending love for us, his human spiritual children, is in itself, "the great deceiver"; this is the evil that we must beware as it has masqueraded, in God's clothing and is the LIE, in itself. The quote,," 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie," is the ultimate irony. As a mystic who has had direct spiritual experiences,(not all of them horrid) I personally assure you that God is an All-Loving Conscious Force who adores us unconditionally; we are tiny shards of his Greatness and have His Light within us.It is now and will be too late to complacently say; "well, we shall see; we will have to wait and see."Consider this:God creates star systems, planets, sentient creatures with consciousness in demeanors from angelic to demonic, from humans to aliens; He doesn't write books, people do, and they got God wrong, dead wrong, so wrong that it's almost sinful to take that God wrong message from door to door...In Christ, Paulthis came in as anonymous but I knew it was you and then you signed it.I am glad we haven't gone back there....You already know that I believe God is "big enough" to inspire writers to communicate what He would like communicated. He is love. He is also justice, mercy, jealous, and a wonderful Father. Would someone be a good Father if he didn't teach, correct, guide, discipline his kids while loving on them. He loves us unconditionally, but there are things we chose to do and choices we make that break his heart. You must be feeling better and I am glad for that, Paul.Paul a PS here - I have experienced the Lord personally and up close - His incredible presence, power, healing, whispering to my heart, direction, guidance, revelation etc. I also have learned much about Him and from Him through His written Word. I am not talking about "head knowledge" I am talking about a relationship with the Creator of the Universe - wow, He is awesome.Questioning dogma is anything but a lie. The lie is being told you have to "believe what I believe" to know truth.I definitely have and will continue to question man taught dogma. Thanks for your comments.
Hi Marijo. I enjoyed reading your article which gives me more insight into who you are as a person and your faith. I have been walking with the Lord since 10"30am 17th March 1997... lol! This guy is also been set free and is a work in progress..Yah, I just wrote one on "Old" int he Lord and still being made new.... glad he doesn't give up on us!
Hi Marijo,Well done, we see the falling away in the church daily - gays in ministry, taking the grace of God for granted - all spirituality is good and long as long as you don't hurt anyone etc... All that Scripture speaks of is coming to pass. As you know 87 % of all biblical prophecy has already come to pass. We don't have much longer to go. When Jesus said "this generation shall not pass away before his return".. In 1948 when Israel became a nation, the clock started ticking. We know the biblical definition of a generation is anywhere from 40 to 100 years - We don't have too much time left. Satan knows his time is short and he is working overtime. Christianity is changing but the true believers that endure til the end will wear the robe of righteousness. We need to be about our Father's business all the more. Thanks for this wake up call to all our brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, I know the Lord is working on the hearts of the undecided. Love you girl! TeresaBy His grace we saved not of works lest anyone should boast.Beautiful! And do you know that what got me thinking about the Lord back when I was a professing atheist was Hal Lindsay's book "Late, Great Planet Earth"? And he counting things down from the 1948 time line. I had forgotten that a Biblical generation could go to 100 years! Your comments do sum it all up! Thanks and you know that when you are busy doing what is next on His list that you are missed SO much (when you don't always have time to interact on SW!!) You are a blessing! Love you too!I love Hal Linsay, he is definitely a man of God
Amen Marijo, amen!!! We are in the times when the Lord could come for his church, his bride any moment in a twinkling of an eye. Sadly enough there are lots of loved ones out there that turn away from truth and they are believing lies. Thanks for a wonderful spirit filled article! God blessI got the nudge to do this one in my quiet time and was going to post it on Searchwarp's sister site World Wide Bible Studies - and felt it needed to be here... know what I mean? Thanks SO much!
Marijo,Great article, as I remember even the movies PG, were better movies with out all the innuendo, they put in the movies now in days so call rated PG. The world have change so much, we need to stay focus in the things that are important to our hearts.Thank youAppreciate your encouragement, Jose. I always find it incredible that we would consider it entertainment to watch something that sent Jesus to the cross to die... I try to use that as a gauge for what should and should not be "entertaining" - we do not have a TV by the way...and now rarely go to a movie.
