Crazy Kitten

Around and round she went Chasing her toy she stopped For her little cat-nip mouse In front of the dog kerplopped! Cautiously she looked at him A great golden mass of fur The retriever drowsily snoozing there Didn’t even stir The tiny kitten gazed at him And blinked her big blue eyes The huge dog dozing there Was about nine times her size Cautiously she raised her paw And sent that mouse a skittering Right straight into the doggie's nose That set his eyelids flittering…. Oh, Ohhhh…….  (This was written about a hypothetical kitten but based on the antics of several I have known through my life as a Cat Lady – have included a photo of two who could definitely fit the bill. I have never been blessed enough to have the above stated “golden” although the one mentioned vaguely resembles my neighbor with four paws named Duke, who has two kittens of his own.)
