Uniquely Peculiar

Lord Jesus, You gave me this mind
With flight of thought 5 lanes wide
All traveled at once
Little fritzes, sputters and short circuits
Sparking, flashing and smoking
And generally full of static questions
My cerebrum, its occasional times
Of rare revelations grasped,
And burning, yet undisciplined creativity
Holy Spirit, I pray You'd remake and mold me
The mind of Christ within beautifully dominant
Yet the brush stroke of beauty You used
To make me uniquely me
Still evident with a fresh touch from
My Jesus' hand
Gone, the stubborn, unyielding, willful me
Leaving to bloom in the beauty of Jesus
This peculiar person
And all You intended "me" to be.

I guess you could call this one a prayer poem – it comes from the heart of what makes me tick, if you haven’t guessed what that is by now I can sum it up here for my readers – JESUS who set me FREE!
